Auch der #OpenSource #Markdown Editor #MarkEdit macht sich in seiner neuesten Version schon mal für #macOS 26 Tahoe bereit.

Microsoft spendiert dem guten alten #Notepad nun auch #Markdown. Man kann das bereits als Windows Insiders in den Canary und Dev Channels ausprobieren. Unter #macOS muss man dafür Apps von Drittanbietern installieren, wie beispielsweise #MarkEdit. Out of the box quasi kann das TextEdit nämlich leider nicht.

Fast übersehen: Es gibt seit 2 Wochen eine neue Version 1.22.0 von #MarkEdit, dem kostenlosen open-source #Markdown Editor für #macOS

@ellane I know what you mean. I opened #Byword a few months ago but didn’t spend much time in it due to the lack of highlighting. Same thing with #MarkEdit, another simple #markdown editor that, while under active development, also lacks == highlighting and has no visible left margin—your text is jammed tight against the side of the window unless you turn on line numbering, which is necessary in a code editor but I find unnecessary and annoying in a #writing app.

@markmcelroy What a great experiment—well done for sticking it out all 3 months!

As much as using #Logseq for outliney stuff appealed to me, I gave it away fairly quickly. These days I'm using #Obsidian as one of the #Markdown apps in my repertoire. Also in the bag are #iaWriter, and #MarkEdit.
