WinBitTorrent: обернул qBittorrent в WinUI 3, красивый интерфейс и новые фишки

Каждый день я использую qBittorrent. Это отличный торрент-клиент, стабильный и кроссплатформенный. Наверное, работает лучше чем любой другой торрент клиент. Но интерфейс у него на Qt Widgets, и на Windows 11 он выглядит не нативно(+ лично для меня не хватает некоторых вещей, о которых расскажу в статье) Я долго искал в интернете что-то подобное, но найти подходящее так и не смог, поэтому взялся пилить своё собственное решение. Переписывать движок с нуля было бы откровенной дуростью: qBittorrent пилят и тестируют годами, повторить это в одиночку за разумное время нереально. Значит, задача сузилась: оставить движок как есть, а вокруг него построить красивый интерфейс и внедрить новые функции. Так, день за днём, через месяц получился WinBitTorrent Что же там за программа...

So now that we have Webtorrent by default for libtorrent[0] we could allow all Linux distros to show a download button in the browser that is supported by volunteers contributing bandwidth.

So can we please do that?

It would enhance speeds, security, decentralization and reduce dependency on big CDNs and hyper scaler!

It is worth it!

And maybe package distribution next (apt, snap, nix and so on).

Типичный вечер выглядит так: Linux-приложение для тех, кто смотрит фильмы с USB-флешки. Поиск торрентов по Rutor, NoNaMe-Club и RuTracker, скачивание через libtorrent и автоматическое копирование на флешку с умным разбиением MKV-файлов под FAT32. Один бинарник, PyQt5, open source.

Does anyone know the social history of libtorrent? it now appears only sparsely maintained and still almost exclusively by arvid, really huge bugs go unresponded to, and i'm finding tons of offers to help with stuff also getting just ignored? like how did this whole protocol get built on top of this one library maintained by this one person - asking for any specifics, rather than "that just always happens"

there is definitely something leaky going on with #libtorrent or #qBittorrent resulting in tcpip.sys turning a non-paged pool into a non-paged waterworld. could be #windows11 specific 🤔

Latest work on #Libtorrent has repaired/improved support for #i2p, which might promise more broad support for #torrents-through-i2p among FLOSS torrent clients, many of which are built upon libtorrent. Great news for privacy and guerilla archivists. :)

libtorrent-2.0 has just been released with a few major new features. One of them is support for BitTorrent v2.

Most of the specification work of BEP 52 was done by the8472. The libtorrent support for bittorrent v2 was mostly implemented by Steven Siloti. BiglyBT also has an implementation of BitTorrent v2 to be released in the near future.
