Does anyone know the social history of libtorrent? it now appears only sparsely maintained and still almost exclusively by arvid, really huge bugs go unresponded to, and i'm finding tons of offers to help with stuff also getting just ignored? like how did this whole protocol get built on top of this one library maintained by this one person - asking for any specifics, rather than "that just always happens"

there is definitely something leaky going on with #libtorrent or #qBittorrent resulting in tcpip.sys turning a non-paged pool into a non-paged waterworld. could be #windows11 specific 🤔

Latest work on #Libtorrent has repaired/improved support for #i2p, which might promise more broad support for #torrents-through-i2p among FLOSS torrent clients, many of which are built upon libtorrent. Great news for privacy and guerilla archivists. :)

libtorrent-2.0 has just been released with a few major new features. One of them is support for BitTorrent v2.

Most of the specification work of BEP 52 was done by the8472. The libtorrent support for bittorrent v2 was mostly implemented by Steven Siloti. BiglyBT also has an implementation of BitTorrent v2 to be released in the near future.
