  1. Admittedly, I never really could give #Duolingo my stamp of approval, due to its methodology used for teaching languages, but inundating the app with ads just to upsell a subscription is not an improvement. I guess I'm just a sucker for getting lured into a #proprietary piece of software whose standard of teaching is not fully disclosed. In my defense, though, that was long before I found out that I love #FOSS.

  2. Apps can help you recognize Hebrew words - but they can’t teach you to use the language in real life.

Your brain needs context, feedback, and a system designed for how your brain actually learn Hebrew.

That’s why so many learners stay stuck for years… and then feel clarity in days when they switch to a method built for real-life use.

If you’re ready for Hebrew to finally make sense:

💬 Comment SPEAK and I’ll send you an invite to my complete system that helps you use Hebrew naturally, confidently, and without guessing.

  4. Can anyone recommend good online tools, ideally free or affordable, for learning Danish?

A friend has offered to help me learn and I want to take advantage of the opportunity!

*Not Duolingo, obviously. I'm not interested in their AI slop.

**I don't need lectures from language study purists about using online tools. I am asking for what I want for my own reasons. Bullies and scolds will be blocked.

  6. Apple’s new Journal app is a useful tool for language learners. Set a schedule to write something each day. You can choose your target language in the app settings.

  7. The recent news about #Duolingo laying off human translators in favour of AI does not sound good (digialps.com/duolingos-massive).

I don’t know if there’s been other news articles about it yet, can’t find any with a quick search, but it’s been talked about on Reddit.

Anyway, my yearly subscription ends in two months and I probably won’t be renewing it.

Also, lingonaut.app sounds like a promising alternative. It's not ready yet, but I hope they'll release it soon.
