Random obsv:
- Not even a single mention of Luanne, Lucky, or their kid? At all? ...really? I can completely understand not wanting to recast either of them, but not even a hint that they existed? Cotton, Buck, and Good Hank all got speaking roles. You even noted a pelvic scar on Peggy from getting kicked in the crotch by Bobby, for fucks sake. (Also: SCAR?!)
- Speaking of recasts, for most of the season I wasn't sure which was the original Dale voice actor and which was the new one. The original's has changed enough to plausibly be the same guy, but the new one... I wasn't sure WHEN I was hearing him until the end of the season when Dale SUDDENLY SOUNDS LIKE HE LOST HIS HEARING AID AND HIS WHINES EVERYTHING. HAAAANK.
- Being the same race as your character doesn't mean you're a good replacement for an existing VA. In this case, all I can hear is Ronny Chieng. But I'll get used to it. Eventually. Unlike Dale's new voice which is a hard "no". KOTH is in a rock and a hard place with Dale, though: you can't just write him out.
- Despite always liking the paring from the original series, I wasn't sure I was even rooting for Bobby and Connie to form a two-person Voltron with that "ENM" crap. She kind of dropped it quick as they rolled into the final episodes. Maybe too fast. Still, I came around: I especially loved her high on pain killers. 😈
- Also: Bobby is, hands down, the MVP of the season. He's turned into such a good, kindhearted guy. ... I'm... I'm... GETTIN' A BIT SNIFFLY. 😢
- Aside from Dale's new loud voice, my only serious criticism is over Peggy's characterization this season. She's always been an arrogant, over-confident jerk now and then, but she's PEGGING the needle (huhuh) almost every time she's on-screen. I've always liked Peggy, but I almost understood why some people hate her. This is all they remember, I bet.

This may be a stupid question, but was this purely a gag mocking Dale's chain-smoking habits, or was it also a reference to an old sort of accessibility device that used to exist back in the day?
This episode would have aired in 2002, and back then it really wasn't a gag in Texas for there to be smoking indoors in lots of places, but as the sign in the scene indicates, by law smoking had been banned in hospitals since 1975. So, it's not supposed to be realistic that a hospital of that era would actually have wheelchairs like that around. But maybe the creators from their youth remembered older people with these kinds of set ups, and the joke was supposed to be that the hospital had really old wheelchairs like this sitting around that did actually used to be around in the world.
Anyway, sometimes a cartoon joke is just a cartoon joke, but a lot of "King of the Hill" is deep cuts of real life stuff, and it would be cool to know more about this one if that's so.
