Most fried rice recipes taste like ordinary fried rice. This one doesn't, and the difference is one ingredient: kecap manis — a thick, syrupy Indonesian soy sauce with a deep, caramel-like sweetness. Tossed with tender ham, sweet baby corn, red bell pepper and rolled golden egg ribbons over fluffy long-grain rice, ready in about 20 minutes. The real trick: use cold, day-old rice, not fresh.
