  1. #CommunityRadio is back in #StLouis! Internet-only for now, Community Radio St. Louis is broadcasting 24/7 at crstl.fm.

The folks from the former #KDHX did not let the selfishness and greed of the Executive Director and the incompetence of the Board stop them. When the bankruptcy judge allowed a Christian radio station to purchase the old 88.1 frequency (to essentially mothball it), along with some new folks and a lot community support, put together a new place for music lovers to share and learn about all kinds of music and for #StL folks to get info about local events and concerns.

In addition to the livestream, there are playlights, archived shows, and coming soon, a concert calendar. Give it listen!

    Musical genres featured include #punk #folkmusic #bluegrass #soul #R&B #blues #jazz #latin #Afropop #HipHop and #Reggae.

  11. My end-of-year #kdhx donation form is ready for mailing back tomorrow ... without a check, but with a note that the station management needs to change. I wonder what their response rates are at the moment; I suspect a very high proportion of folks who pay for a community radio membership are unhappy that half (?) the volunteer DJs have been fired/quit/striking.

  17. CW: Local (St Louis, MO USA) radio

The DJ exodus from #kdhx #radio continues; T.J. Muller's good bye broadcast earlier today nearly had me in tears. I hope that he (and all the others) can return soon. And listening just now, no one spoke for the entire 45 minutes ... I can only presume that DJ is also fired/quit/striking. I hope the station can survive.

  19. There's some ugly stuff happening at volunteer radio station KDHX in St. Louis. There's always a lot of drama at community radio stations but this seems to be on another level.

  22. Sad times in community radio. KDHX has fired a foundation dj, Tom "PaPa" Ray.

30 plus years of service, unpaid because it's community radio. The man that introduced me to so much music and lots of it local. The man that introduced my pre-teen son to James Brown.

Tom is fond of saying "the truth may be an offense but it's no sin". Seems it is firing offense though.

    Sad Times.

  24. I found a great blues history show last night on 88.1 KDHX FM St. Louis called “Nothin’ but the Blues,” hosted by Ron Edwards. Here’s a link to a fantastic archive of the songs that have been featured in past shows - many with specific themes. If you like the blues, you might find something in here you’ve never heard before. #BluesMusic #Blues #Music #RadioShows #FMradio #PublicRadio #KDHX ~ spinitron.com/KDHX/show/126828

  25. :verified: 🎼 🎻 @vromans @bachdotclub @grimethorpeband @classicalmusic The Fickle Finger of Fate changed last weekend's #StLouisSymphonyOrchestra program into an all-French concert with soloist #TessaLark performing Chausons's "Poème" and Ravel's fiendishly difficult "Tzigane." Also on the program was Debussy's “Marche écossaise sur un théme populaire” and Ravel's "La Valse." Review for #KDHX kdhx.org/articles/classical/30

  26. :verified: 🎼 🎻 @classicalmusic Last Saturday and Sunday, January 28 and 29, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performed new music by James Lee III, Bernstein, and Sibelius. #KDHX review: kdhx.org/articles/classical/29
