After many hours and sifting through #Apple tech support documents, I was able to downgrade my iphone from #ios26beta2 to bog standard 18.5.
I would have stayed on 26 if not for it breaking #MMS and #RCS texting. Apple not playing nice with #Android; who would have known?! 🤦 -

12 Hours since I installed iOS26 Beta 2 on my iPhone 14 (Not my primary device)
- The readability of Control Center is fixed
- Focuse modes now don’t mix up with other UI elements when turned on
- Overall the OS feels way more smooth now. UI animations are much more fluid compared to 1st Beta -
Today has not been a great tech day. Lots of #sbc woes, #ios26beta2 broke my favorite app (Mona for Mastodon), #Fedora is having update issues, and my Blu-ray player took a dump.
Luckily it has not been all doom and gloom. The #RISCV sbc is trucking well and #MacOStahoe update cleaned some things up. -

But the real problem with glass in design is that in most contexts, making it functional would mean making it deviate from the high glossy feel that attracts to glass as a material in the first place. Basically make it boring again. So the trade off is really doesn’t worth it with all the effort and compute to do a glass design that if too glassy it’s not usable if usable it doesn’t really look that striking. #ios26beta2

Ya tengo instalada la beta 2 de iOS 26 y el cambio se nota bastante. Todo va mucho más fluido, hay menos errores y el nuevo centro de control se ve más pulido. Definitivamente está mucho más estable que la primera beta.
Las versiones beta de iOS, especialmente las primeras, tienden a consumir más batería debido a que el sistema está en desarrollo y algunos procesos no están completamente optimizados. Sin embargo, con la beta 2 de iOS 26, Apple suele implementar mejoras importantes en la batería.
