Immersive Audio-Visual Event ‘OPTIKA’ Set to Transform Glasgow’s SWG3 Next Month
This Is So Much More Than Games…
Scottish creative technology and immersive arts studio SUUM has announced OPTIKA, a major new day-and-night celebration of digital art and electronic music taking place at Glasgow’s SWG3 next month.
The event will take over SWG3’s Galvanisers Yard on Saturday 25 July 2026 as part of the official Glasgow 2026 cultural and sporting programme surrounding the Commonwealth Games.
A Convergence of Real-Time Tech and Music
Created by SUUM Studio in partnership with Nightsky Studios, OPTIKA moves far beyond a standard club night or festival stage. The open-air, audience-responsive experience is built around real-time visual performances, generative systems, and digital art installations that directly interface with electronic music and collective crowd participation.
Rather than treating technology as a passive backdrop, the digital art programme acts as an integral, evolving ecosystem. Throughout the day and night, audience movement, presence, sound, and the atmosphere of the yard will feed back into the generative systems—blurring the boundaries between the observer, the performer, and the digital landscape.
For the Scottish games and interactive ecosystem, the event represents a high-profile, real-world manifestation of the More Than Games philosophy. It showcases exactly how real-time 3D tools, interactive technologies, and creative technologist skillsets are intersecting with live entertainment, spatial design, and public cultural programming to create entirely new forms of collective experience.

The music and audio-visual programme brings together an accomplished roster of international talent alongside pioneers of Glasgow’s electronic music culture:
- Auntie Flo: The award-winning DJ and producer headlines the event with his globally influenced approach to electronic music.
- Petrichor: Bringing a live electronic performance to the yard.
- Nightwave: The acclaimed Glasgow DJ, producer, and regular fixture of the electronic scene.
- Konx-Om-Pax: Renowned audio-visual artist delivering striking real-time synthesis of sound and sight.
- Jamie Thomson: Representing Glasgow’s independent community platform Radio Buena Vida.
- Supporting Selectors: Modular synthesis artist Georgina Pentskart, disco selector David Craik, and ILO, whose sound cuts across Chicago house, Detroit techno, and cinematic electronics.
