  1. Oh, summer #train #timetables start today, not that any GB service operators are going to tell you here (or even on Bluesky)…

Bizarrely worded #NetworkRail article: “[changes] apply to the 8 train operators in public ownership”, but #ScotRail and #TfWRail are omitted from the list, and even that it is a standardised date when •all• timetables change.

    #GBRail, integrated much? 🤷‍♂️🙃

  5. Following the publication of the 2024-25 Origin Destination Model by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) last week, here is a seven-year aggregated rail passenger flow for FY2018-19 to FY2024-25 on a simplified centre-line track-model base model.

This may be of interest as it shows a continuing trend of increasing passenger numbers following COVID.

Details on each of the 2 587 mainline stations are available here github.com/anisotropi4/kingfis

  10. I know they're not among our biggest problem, but why do we still have so many unelectrified train lines? This shouldn't be a diesel train! #GBrail

  20. Giving #GBRail to Derby is a good choice. York had lots going for it, sure, but Derby is more central.
Anyway, it's all just a distraction from the lack of government funding...
