  1. Following the publication of the 2024-25 Origin Destination Model by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) last week, here is a seven-year aggregated rail passenger flow for FY2018-19 to FY2024-25 on a simplified centre-line track-model base model.

This may be of interest as it shows a continuing trend of increasing passenger numbers following COVID.

Details on each of the 2 587 mainline stations are available here github.com/anisotropi4/kingfis

  7. For those interested in such things, here are 2 657 images showing the Office of Road and Rail 2021/22 passenger travel data projected onto a shortest-path network for each of the active mainline railway stations github.com/anisotropi4/kingfis

The main code still needs some work but the will be posted on GitHub here github.com/anisotropi4/kingfis

(There are already some helper scripts for generating markdown and creating the PNG images but not data yet)

  8. For those interested in such things, here are four different cuts of the Office of Road and Rail 2021/22 passenger travel data projected onto a shortest-path network using the centre-line track-model.

These represent the passenger journey numbers either in a colour scale white-to-orange, scaled line width, or both.

The travel data was kindly provided by Alasdair Rae with the centre-line track-model by Peter Hicks through .
