  2. I actually do use the tab bar reordering in #FediReader

I like to reverse my tab bar for reachability

  3. Build 157 of #FediReader is available now!

    What’s New
    - Reorganize your tab bar to have the tabs you find most important
    - Have lists live in their own tab instead of swiping between them
    - Bookmarks and Followed Hashtags now available within the app
    - Option to swap between FediReader, Safari, and External Browser for article reading

    Bug Fixes
    - Updating theme color works on the whole settings page now

  4. My current battle is trying to get the ability to reorder tabs any way you want in #FediReader

Totally underestimated how frustrating it would be

Currently trying to implement a custom 'More' tab for when there are more than 5 tabs in the tab bar

  5. Working on getting some of the first user requested features added to #FediReader

Going to be mostly focused around list management and web viewer options

Things will be a little slower while I'm on a work trip this week, but keep an eye out for the next build!

    Time for some more bugs

  8. Finally caught back up on triaging issues for #FediReader

I'm now up to 52 open issues

So I should probably get working on those

Thanks to everyone who's submitted TestFlight feedback, mentioned me here, or directly submitted GitHub issues!

  9. #Flipboard and #Lemmy are the main interaction points for a lot of my use in #FediReader

I do hope to build other adapters too

Like potentially making services like #Pixelfed and #Loops more enjoyable to consume via a #Mastodon account

I'm not entirely sure if these apps will feasibly expand past the Mastodon API, but, as a consumer and a creator of the #SocialWeb, I really like the concept of having one account

  10. I've slowly been shifting from "if you don't have an RSS feed, I'm not going to see it" to "if you don't have an ActivityPub feed, I'm not going to see it"

Which is why #FediReader exists at all

  11. Next steps are protections against accidentally adding new users, hiding all of the unnecessary @ mentions in the message content, and a bit of a design improvement

    #FediReader

  12. Private messaging that feels like real DMing in #FediReader

  13. Build 80 of #FediReader is out now!

    What’s New
    - Improved profile viewer adds featured tags as well as profile links

    Fixes
    - Tags maintain their original case
    - Bug where tags would show twice in different cases
    - Link description text would sometimes show the post content instead
    - Following and Follower feeds would duplicate content
    - Tags no longer overflow into next post or take up all of the space on a post

    Check it out!

  14. Super interested in these Social Web “adapter” apps where you can log in with a single #SocialMedia account and have different experiences across them

To me, it feels like a simpler option than constantly making new accounts across the #SocialWeb

One identity, one social graph, one presence

Anyway, while I’ve got #FediReader, #BestOMasto from @matt_birchler is another great example of this concept

  15. And #FediReader is now live for public #beta testing! Check it out and let me know what you think!

Some features I haven't had the chance to fully test because I just got my test instance up yesterday, but let me know if something's not working!

  16. @countablenewt

Wonderful. I have added #FediReader to the delightful #fediverse clients curated list. It will be available after the next site generation takes place at..

  17. RE: mastodon.social/@countablenewt

Not every client for every #ActivityPub service needs to show all content

    Take #FediReader, for example

Most of the content on #Mastodon isn't immediately visible in the UI

Posts without links don't show up at all, quote boosts don't show up at all, and any text content shared with the post is hidden in the post detail view

The fun thing about the #SocialWeb is that we can make highly opinionated clients like this for the people who want it

For those that don't, they don't have to use it

  18. #DemocracyOfReach project ideas:

#FediFBNextDoor - comfy communities for normies

    #FediOGTwitter - it's not microblogging, it's a news feed

#FediPodcasts - AP instead of RSS would make them social

#FediReader - articles and text to speech

#FediYouTube - places for all peertube + owncast content

#FediSpotify - separate artist sites w unified streaming

    #FediRadio - indy w chat

    #WebMonetization - fiat protocol

#PublicPatron - pay what you can afford based on time spent with their work
