Both parts of this petition are worth fighting for: don’t fast-track a mining operation close to Pupu Springs, and restrict the (awful) Fast Track Bill so that at least it can’t end-run around existing Water Conservation Orders. #NewZealand #FastTrackBill #politics

At the weekend we saw over 20,000 people from all walks of life demonstrating that they do not want this bill to be passed. The hubris and nonchalant attitude towards our people and the environment is breathtaking.

The fast track bill... Here in Aotearoa New Zealand the collation government are hellbent on destroying the environment for big business. Allowing all the companies that were denied through court cases (yes even the highest court in NZ!) to bulldoze their way into our lands.

If there's one thing I learned studying mediaeval history at uni, it is that in any system where one or more people wield immense personal power, there inevitably results bribery, corruption, favouritism, manipulation, and the benefitting of the few at the expense of the many.
Which is why I put in a submission against the Fast Track Bill this morning.
