Yunnan black tea is always a good way to get Saturday off to a rolling start. According to the scribbling on the label this is "J.m Sun Black 202n" and I know it is from Farmer Leaf. Patrick's handwriting is sometimes hard to decipher. I think this is, "Autumn 2022 JingMai Gushu Sun Dried Black Tea".

Last of the 2022 version of Farmer Leaf's house made Jingmai (very) small batch black tea (#2). I think they mostly make black tea out of their Jingmai leaves to have it to drink themselves and sell the excess.

Just about the last of this Autumn 2022 Jingmai Black #2 from Farmer Leaf. Mostly small and broken leaves, keeping steeps short. Should maybe have brewed Western style.

2017 Mangjing Ripe from Farmer Leaf. A tea producer friend of farmer leaf reserved a small portion of their raw puerh maocha over several years. It was stored in fairly wet conditions in the producer's Yunnan warehouse. In 2017, they processed that accumulated maocha into a small batch of ripe puerh. It was pressed into cakes in 2019 and Farmer Leaf managed to score a few cakes in 2023.

Farmer Leaf describes the storage as wet, but the tea has no real mold/mildew notes in the flavor. I like the flavor, on the darker side, and the energy is strong, clean, and pleasant. After trying a sample, I ordered a cake.
