Since I always say White2Tea's Arbor Red is black tea for puerh drinkers, I was curious to see how Arbor Red would react to brewing in Jiri Duchek Rye stoneware, instead of the usual ruyao gaiwan, would affect the tea. (I usually only brew young raw puerh in Duchek Rye stoneware.) My initial impression is it makes a huge difference, smoothing the rough edges of the tea. Maybe a little too much?

My wife is out of town, so I can enjoy this burly black tea from White2Tea on Saturday morning. 2018 Arbor Red is a bit smoky, a bit bitter, touch of returning sweetness; definitely a black tea for people who enjoy aggressive raw puerh.

Last of the 2022 version of Farmer Leaf's house made Jingmai (very) small batch black tea (#2). I think they mostly make black tea out of their Jingmai leaves to have it to drink themselves and sell the excess.

Most recent years Peter from Pu-Erh.sk has asked his Thailand tea producer to process some of the spring or summer old tree material they would normally use for his Thailand puerhs into a special sun dried black tea (and sometimes white tea). In 2023 he asked them to use all spring material from Pang San Zhou mountain. He called it "Dark Chocolate" after he tasted it. This is the loose leaf version. These teas tend to be very powerful and complex black teas, and 2023 is no exception. Tasty, too.

Azure Spring Yunnan Sun Dried Yunnan Ancient Tree black tea is nice, almost no astringency or bitterness. For a Yunnan black tea, it is a bit more like a Taiwan black tea in style.

2020 Astro Red was a Black tea made from the same spring yunnan maocha blend as White2Tea used for their 2020 Astro Kittens Raw Puerh. About Astro Red, White2Tea said, "The tea has an intense brothy bitterness and feelings that will overwhelm all but the grizzled veterans among you.
