  1. A question for my American peoples:

    Is eggnogg good?
I want to try it out (non-alcoholic version).

  2. All the Americans on the fediverse are tragically reminding me that #EggNogg in the US is not the boozy posset it is in the rest of the world. I remember growing up drinking horrid vanilla-nutmeg heavy cream from tetrapak cartons in the 80s, and wondering who found that enjoyable. It wasn't until I left prohibition-scarred America that I found out what the rum-and-egg-yolk drinks are actually supposed to taste like.

Edit: I'd mistakenly said egg *whites* when I ran this off.

  7. @nyquildotorg Umm.

    No :)

In stark contrast to such heresy, I recently learned of a delightful egg nogg variant hailing from Puerto Rico called Coquito:

    Coquito recipe:
    2 cans of evaporated milk
1 can of cream of coconut
    1 can of coconut milk
    1/2 cup of condensed milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla (I do like 1.5 because I like vanilla)
    1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
1 cup (or more 😉) of rum- you can use dark or white, but I like to make mine with dark rum

All you have to do is add all to a blender and blend it until you don't see big clumps of the cream of coconut

Store in a glass bottle- my grandma is convinced it helps with the flavor 🤷

This is thoroughly delightful :) We got some last year from one of my wife's employees.
