Trying to update #synology #rs2423 to the latest #dsm72 but looks like I have an issue. Unable to update to 7.2.1-up5 due to the following error
If it’s the bootloader issue thing will be the first RMA ina long time. Thanks to extended warranty I get advance RMA options so the device will be delivered asap for a drive swap.
Should be a minimal downtime. Apart from this the NAS works just fine with no issues. Reluctant to do a reboot, device will probably not boot up, best to wait for support

Testing #Synology #HyperBackup bare metal restore after the #DSM72 7.2.1 upgrade. Lets see if the OS will be downgraded to 7.2.0 as indicated in the summary.
The only issue is that this process is soooooo slow compared to #ActiveBackupForBusiness, so it will take about 1-2h for it to complete. Let's see what will happen.
My money is that it will be 7.2.1 (no DSM downgrade) with data from the actual backup archive.

#DSM72 update in progress. Let's see if #WireGuard package will continue to work and just how well #HyperBackup bare metal restore will behave when moving from an updated version to a lower one (if possible at all).

Considering what a gem the new #Synology #ds923plus is, an extra €65+tax for extended warranty plus (2 extra years of warranty), is a small price to pay imho.
