In part because I could already see - just from the first year of the course - how economics was a pisspoor model of human behaviour.

The founding document of the Austrian school did not appear until 1871.

Dismal indeed when one considered that three Nobel Prizes went to libertarians, and that only half of economics research is replicable (https://www.federalreserve.gov/econresdata/feds/2015/files/2015083pap.pdf).
