  1. Not all American corporations support 🟠tRump, but do appease him by wanting lower Corp taxes.
In our Capitalist econ, the Corps continue their GREEDY pursuit of net PROFITS, even when #WeThePeople starve.
#CitizensUnited is doing all the "wet work"❗️
    "Tomorrow" they'll "shrug"❗️ 🤷🏼

    >> #SCOTUS ruling on #CitizensUnited that treats corporations as natural persons for contributing money, but not for voting.

The #SupremeCourt carefully contrived this narrow scope to pull wool over our eyes so that #corporate money could flow in.

Had they granted voting rights to corporations that they treated as natural persons, all companies incorporate in the #US would be able to vote, and thereby expose the sham nature of the ruling.

    >> #ElonMusk: “With #ArtificialIntelligence we are summoning the demon.” 😳 … Why are we giving these anti-human #oligarch #sociopaths control over our entire lives? … This should be a bipartisan issue.

It IS a bipartisan issue, and that issue is #corporate money that flows to both parties, #Republican as well as #Democratic, thanks to #SCOTUS ruling on #CitizensUnited that treats corporations as natural persons for contributing money, but not for voting.

  8. #SCOTUS’ 2010 #CitizensUnited decision opened the door to unlimited independent spending in federal #elections.

The limits on party spending stem from a desire to prevent large donors from skirting caps on individual contributions to a candidate by directing unlimited sums to the party, with the understanding that the #money will be spent on behalf of the candidate.

The #SupremeCourt had previously upheld the limits in 2001.

  9. @Nonilex

No, that's not what #CitizensUnited did, though there is so much misinformation about the ruling.

In the ruling, unlimited expenditures was part of what was asked for, the SCOTUS refused, putting limits at the core of the ruling it handed down.

These stories of unlimited power handed to corporations are just sensationalized clickbait. They don't reflect what the ruling actually said, often getting it exactly backwards.

  10. The #SupremeCourt killing #ChevronDeference is just as consequential as the #CitizensUnited decision.

This is another disaster of a ruling that was quietly announced on a Friday.

The #SupremeCourt is killing our country, and #Congress is too polarized to do anything about it.

Scary stuff. We need a #Biden win in November.
