Today’s #APOD is not a #photography but an #artist view of the #dwarf #planet #Makemake (pronounce MAH-kay MAH-kay) and its #moon to scale. Makemake is really a dwarf planet, it is only ~1430km (888 mi) in #diameter, hence 41% of the size of the #Moon, and 60% of the size of the dwarf planet #Pluto. Both dwarf planets are actually smaller than the #Moon.
