#CrypticSpecies in a colorful genus: Integrative #taxonomy of the bush robins (#Aves, Muscicapidae, Tarsiger) suggests two overlooked species sciencedirect.com/science/arti

With six currently recognized #species in the Sino-Himalayan region, Eurasian #Arctic, and #Taiwan, the #Tarsiger bush #robins comprise an ideal group for the study of biogeographical patterns of diversification and #speciation.

  9. I am also interested in #Anopheles #mosquitoes that transmit #Plasmodium parasites which cause #malaria. I study #PopulationGenomics of these #vectors to find #CrypticSpecies and signals of #NaturalSelection which sometimes turns out to be not so natural (e.g. caused by #insecticides). Understanding patterns of #GeneticDiversity in these insects can help us better control them.
