  1. 7th & 8th March a group of developers came together to compare their experiences with implementing COAR Notify in their systems. The meeting was hosted by CSIC in Madrid.

The team discussed a range of technical issues, comparing notes on what had worked well, & what needed improvement or clarification. It was also a chance for begin to establish a #community of #COARNotify developers.

We are always looking for ways to engage with the Open Science community with great initiatives like this!

  2. I have completely re-built the COAR Notify website following feedback from the community. I think it is much improved! The new “catalogue" section will be added to steadily in the next few weeks - I am still refining the approach to documenting workflows, but I think we have made a good start on this:

  5. After much anticipation, we launched the new #requestareview feature which is connecting @biorxivpreprint and @[email protected] preprint authors with PREreviewers via #COARNotify. We can't wait to optimize this feature in 2024!

  10. Key insights from our work:

    (1) Preprinting needs to be made easier. This can be realized by integrating preprinting in journal submission workflows and other types of infrastructure development (e.g. #COARNotify).

    (2) Preprinting needs to be made more rewarding. Hopefully @coarassessment can work on this.

    (3) Quality assurance mechanisms for preprints need further development. This shows importance of initiatives around preprint review doi.org/10.31219/osf.io/cht8p. @PeerCommunityIn @ReviewCommons

  11. We’re very excited to implement #COARnotify to connect #preprint authors & journal editors w/ PREreviewers. This work is done in partnership with @eLife and @sciety, and in collaboration with SciELO Preprints and bioRxiv

Many thanks to COAR for the technical & funding support!

✨Rapid PREreviews & PREreview Clubs (formerly called "Communities") are almost ready to come back stronger than ever

✨we begun the work to use #COARNotify to connect #preprint authors & reviewers
