I couldn't make it through the opening of the video, it's so bad, so I don't know what their theory is.

Just seeing the words and image together made it click for me.

The thumbnail image of Mary's mom made me realize the still life could be of *either* of them.

It could be what the Backrooms remember of Mary's mother as easily as a copy of Mary herself.

Mary's Mona Lisa smile is her leaving her memory of her mom behind.

Wait!

I just saw a video title (Her last memory) and thumbnail (Mary's mom) that immediately made me think (realize?) that the still life we've (mostly?) all been believing is of Mary, is actually Mary's memory of her mom!

Her look out of the high windows at the oddly clouded blue sky, and turn back with that slight smile, cutting to the back of the still life and slow reveal?

That was Mary understanding, and escaping.
