  8. Finished Oathbringer by Sanderson at long last, and immediately picked up The Things We Never Say by Elizabeth Strout. Not too far in yet, but it's beautifully written. Really enjoying this fairly slim book so far.

  13. I finished the most recent Elizabeth Strout novel, “The Things We Never Say,” and found it beautiful, but also profoundly sad. Has anyone else read this yet and, if so, would you care to share your thoughts/feelings?

  22. Just finished #tellmeeverything by #elizabethstrout & have mixed feelings. While I thoroughly enjoyed the story’s philosophical bent, I found its voice a bit odd as it was very similar to the voice used in Strout’s other #lucybarton novels, which were 1st person. #tellmeeverything was in 3rd person, so I think its voice should have been different.

One novel of hers I feel was overlooked &, besides #olivekitteridge, is probably my favorite is #AbideWithMe. Highly recommend!

  25. I've often thought I should catch up with all the inhabitants of Elizabeth Strout's literary world. (So many books, so little time . . .). Susan has kept up with all of them, as is evident in her appreciation of Strout's latest #novel .

  27. CW: Books 2023 thread; spoilers

I was talking about #LucybytheSea with a friend who read it at my recommendation. And we decided that #ElizabethStrout is very good at writing people because she lets her characters be complicated and not act on their feelings.
