Masz macOS Monterey? Google Chrome odetnie wsparcie w lipcu. Czas na aktualizację

Użytkownicy starszych wersji systemu macOS muszą przygotować się na zmiany. Google oficjalnie potwierdziło, że w połowie roku zakończy wsparcie dla systemu macOS 12 (Monterey). Jeśli chcesz nadal bezpiecznie korzystać z Chrome, musisz zaktualizować system do wersji Ventura lub nowszej.

Lipiec 2026 graniczną datą

Zgodnie z informacjami przekazanymi przez 9to5Google, „gilotyna” spadnie wraz z premierą Chrome 151. Wersja ta jest wstępnie zaplanowana na 28 lipca 2026 roku.

Oznacza to, że:

Chrome 150 będzie ostatnią wersją przeglądarki, która zainstaluje się i zaktualizuje na macOS Monterey.
Chrome 151 i nowsze będą wymagały co najmniej macOS 13 (Ventura).

Czy przeglądarka przestanie działać?

Nie, Chrome nie wyłączy się z dnia na dzień. Starsza wersja (150) nadal będzie uruchamiać strony internetowe. Jednak korzystanie z niej będzie z każdym tygodniem bardziej ryzykowne. Brak wsparcia oznacza brak aktualizacji bezpieczeństwa oraz nowych funkcji. W dzisiejszym internecie, pełnym phishingu i exploitów, używanie nieaktualnej przeglądarki to proszenie się o kłopoty.

Co zrobić?

Jeśli Twój Mac nadal pracuje pod kontrolą macOS 12 Monterey (wydanego w 2021 roku), warto sprawdzić, czy możesz zaktualizować go do macOS 13 Ventura. Ventura wspiera m.in. MacBooki Air i Pro od 2018 roku oraz iMaki od 2017 roku. Jeśli Twój sprzęt na to nie pozwala – być może to sygnał, że czas pomyśleć o nowym komputerze, zanim stracisz dostęp do bezpiecznego internetu.
