Been working on streamlining my bicycle chain waxing workflow a bit, with a 3D-printed drip rack/hanger, a cheap BLE meat thermometer to read the wax temperature, and an ESP32 with OLED running ESPHome to periodically read the thermometer so I can monitor everything from Home Assistant and send me a notification when the wax has reached its target temperature (using a slow cooker means 2+ hours for the wax to melt).

Ran a quick errand, only a couple of miles, on my newly waxed chain. WOW! At least right now, it is phenomenal. Quietest the chain has ever run and changes gears way better than before! It's like it's lubricated with butter, LOL. (of course, it might be my 37-year old prior chain was no longer hacking it, too). #BikeTooter #chainwaxing
