U.S seizes Russian-flagged #oil #tanker linked to #Venezuela after weekslong pursuit. The #Bella1, which changed its name to the #Marinera, was seized in the #NorthAtlantic on Wednesday. The U.S. also announced the seizure of another sanctioned tanker #Sophie in the #Caribbean.

What's going on here
A #tanker left #Iran for #Venezuela but never made it. On Dec 21 it turned away after the #USA started boarding tankers
It turned off its transponder, sent distress signals, changed its name (#Marinera/ #Bella1), changed its flag to #Russia
Russia sent a submarine and other vessels to intercept it
It was followed by #US #CoastGuard, and is being boarded right now off #Iceland
My question is: what the *** is on this tanker?
