Here's an early preview of the cover of my forthcoming 3rd book Nightmare Voyager. The artist is M. W. Byouk, who I long admired before reaching out. He has also created a dozen pieces of interior art for the story's characters, and says there are more to come. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Ran my first session of my West Marches campaign today. Used the Basic Fantasy rule set along with some paper miniatures.
Went quite well, actually. Only one player died.
Protip: After you turn an undead creature, leave it alone.

Yesterday it came to light that someone was selling a clone of #BasicFantasyRPG with the name changed, licence altered & artwork replaced, but almost exactly the same text.
The worst thing (other than charging people $20+ for an RPG that was released for free, is that they changed the dedications which were originally written to friends of the authors who had died.
Chris Gonnerman of BFRPG has been incredibly gracious about the whole thing:

Do you run OSR games RAW (rules as written) or do you use houserules?
In a #DungeonMasterpiece video, Baron de Ropp said that he plays RAW because he treats the rules as a sort of contract with the players to keep things fair. This made me rethink my stance on houserules.
Thankfully with #BasicFantasyRPG, I can still get to do things like separate race/class, ascending AC, character creation options, save vs death, save vs poison, ability checks, etc. because these are all in the core book.

Just ran my college aged daughter and her friends through a 7 hour in person #ttrpg with the #BasicFantasyRPG It was good to be rolling #dice again. Brain dump now, blog post later.

Your idea reminds me of the whole Basic Fantasy project.Everything is open source, free to download, & available in editable Open Office files.
There are templates and style guides to make your own stuff.
The simple B\X-style rules might not be to everyone's taste, but the project and community are admirable.
