When I feed the critters, Ralphie Meowcchio and Moxie (the #shiba) wait to lick either side of the #spoon, the one was used to add the wet toppers to the various kibbles; so sweet, and so cool that they get on OK 🙂

Not seen since the blizzard, Chicken is back, no longer pregnant but very hungry.

Been hanging around all day, so its unlikely she has kittens to take care of somewhere?

First saw her last night, coming from the field on the other side of the road.

Either they are safely tucked away in a warm cow barn there, or the deep winter delivery did not go well 💔

Gave her something to eat and she's chilling (literally) in the sun now.

The goats decided to bust out the window of the barn today in an attempt to make their escape. Though they just sat right outside the barn and didn't go very far. 😆

When I woke up and walked outside to handle the animals Yuki, our Great Pyrenees, was doing his alarm bark so ran out there to check what was going on. He was stuck in the barn because he's a good boy and thankfully decided not to jump out too. I let him out of the gate and went and wrangled the goats and brought them back. For only being 4 months old, he's already proving quite helpful around here!

I have the barn window boarded up so they don't get back out and hopefully the weather cooperates tomorrow so I can replace the glass.

Everyone say hi to Twix, the sweetest “feral” cat to ever cat!

We got him from Workimg Whiskers (our local animal shelter’s feral / barn cat program) and he immediately became a member of the family. He follows us around the farm to do chores with us and is a master mouser. He even caught a vole a few days ago!

#BarnCat update, he's outside most mornings waiting for food and pets.
He generally comes for pets before he hits the food. He's still skittish, and likely always will be. I would like him to be more comfortable, trying to get head butts, and for him to sit/lie near me is still not yet happening.

@m750 Have you tried offering Temptations or Churu right out of your hand?

I know a lot of ferals who will skip the fear and come closer for this yummy stuff, once they get the taste of it.
Keep it up for a few weeks, and he might like you ...

When I was a little girl, I spent my happiest days in this barn, watching my uncle work and playing with the wild kittens that roamed about.I went back a few years ago to visit.As I rounded a corner, I saw this behind the old, dirty windows. Happy #caturday. This is Goldie Hahn. She and another “barn cat” came with the house when we bought it over the summer. Both cats are very sweet and friendly, and even seem to get along with the roosters. I’ve been calling this rooster GameBoi (his breed is a modern version of the Old English Game Bird).
