The last train ride for today: #Edinburgh to #York on board an #LNER 🇬🇧 #Azuma 200 kph (125 mph) trainset. No proper @diningcar on this one either, yet there is a counter labelled “Cafe Bar” in the middle of the train where one can buy snacks and drinks from a friendly steward.

Fog on the line: I love peeking over a bridge to see if there’s a train coming. It reminds me of being a kid.
My favourites are the long, clanking freight trains or one of these: a 10-coach LNER Azuma powering its way north to Scotland.
As it passes through Heaton (pictured), it will have just left Newcastle Central Station and will likely have journeyed all the way from London Kings Cross.
All the better when it’s blasting through some weather!
