Another first for Maisie...dropped my mouse, which usually hits the floor - I really need a mouse with a wire so I can find it when this happens! Sent Maisie to get it, which she has to do 100 times a day, at least. This time she sniffed around on the floor, then nosed at something on the wheel well (which I use for a bedside table) and sat, looking at me. Never in her life has she said - with her eyes - "You can reach it, get it yourself!" What a funny gurl, I'm still laughing at her! (Yes, she would have handed it to me anyway had I repeated the command - it's her funny personality and intelligence that I get such a kick out of!) #servicedog #assistancedog #rescuedog #MaisieCurGurl

GOOD girl, Maisie...she's a hunter dog, loves to catch (and eat - blech!) flies and moths and mosquitoes and other flying insects in the house. But tonight when a lightning bug landed on the bed next to her I panicked - just a little bit - because they're cute and do no harm...I said "leave it!" and she looked at me like, "Mom, this is where you're supposed to say Get The Bug!" but she left it. She's good with commands of course - she has to be - but I didn't have much hope I could stop her mid-pounce. GOOD GURL!!!! (I moved the lightning bug outside.) The funniest part was when it walked onto her tail, little light flashing, and she looked SO puzzled LOL! #servicedog #assistancedog #rescuedog #MaisieCurGurl

Ready to start day 2 of our sisters trip in Kentucky although the other half of the team has been on the computer and phone for hours. Just over 24 hours without Maisie makes me realize how much I have grown to depend on her over the last couple of years. (Hmm, that may be today's blog topic...) My sister isn't as eager or excited to help me as my #assistancedog 😂😂😂
Anyway I hope all who read this have a fantabulous Tuesday, whatever you're doing, wherever you are❣️

So thankful tonight! My sister and I are taking a little trip this week - a bit over 400 miles - and before we left this morning my husband led us in prayer for our safety. God was faithful in keeping us safe when we were within inches of being involved in a terrible accident on the freeway about halfway here. So thank you Father! We are praying that he uses us while we're here and sees us back home safely as well.

ALSO my #assistancedog is very depressed, according to my husband. I had to leave her behind, as it was my mobility device (I call it my "scwalker") takes up a lot of space in my sister's car, her car is small and my dog is about 80#...anyway, I hope that my sweet partner dog who is nearly part of me will adapt for the next few days.

Now I'll read what's new with my theres.life friends before I put up today's blog...good night!
