Regardless of the setting, my #ServiceDog knows this part of his job exceptionally well: stand out of the way, against a shelf or wall, looking outwards so I can feel safe enough to not look over my shoulder every two seconds. Medical setting? Grocery store? Liquor store? It’s all the same to him. In fact, I don’t even need to cue him to do it anymore, he just does it automatically whenever I stop indoors while in public. He knows! #dogs

Yesterday was my first time taking my #servicedog with me to the dentist. He’s accompanied me to countless medical appointments, including x-rays & ultrasounds, but never before to the dentist.
I expected he’d just settle in the corner, but I wasn’t sure how he’d react to the high-pitched sounds of the dental tools. Clearly, our training sessions have paid off! He knows when I place his blanket in a corner, it means he should rest. He was an absolute angel the entire time. Very proud of him!

So I already asked this on Facebook and have gone back and forth for a while, but I'm interested to know what the good people of Mastodon think. I #travel with a #ServiceDog. After how many trips would people say TSA pre-check is worth the $75-$85? I usually take one big trip a year, maybe two. I realize it's good for five years, but I also have a family member telling me "you don't travel enough, not worth it". From what I understand Clear probably wouldn't be worth it for me, so I'm not spending $220 every year on that.

While trying to serve a warrant on someone who didn't even live at the address, some bastard cops shot Calvin Willis' service dog. Then they tried to dispute that FiFi was a service dog at all. The organization who trained FiFi, Healing4Heroes, has set up a Gofundme to help him get another service dog. The poor man already had PTSD, and now this.
