OR it could STILL carry important messages but...the combination of trailer, publisher and the changes already clear from the trailer make me...erm...pessimistic about this one.
I'd like to watch it to see how much of the original book is still in it. But with the little I read about the publisher, I...really don't want to give money to them. I don't want to give money to people calling themselves "value-driven", because that usually means "religious and conservative."
So...yeah...I'm a bit afraid, I guess? 😅

I just learned that there's an "Animal Farm" (yes, the Orwell one) animated movie is coming out, it's handled as a family-friendly, fun movie and it's distributed by "Angel Studios", who are a "value driven" studio that often carries Christian themes.
Okay, so, let me say to things in...whatever's defense first...
1. I do think Animal Farm can work well in animated form. There was this old cartoon movie of it. I...think that one was fine? But it's been too long ago, I gotta rewatch it.
2. I am not entirely against adapting very mature things in a child-friendly way, if it makes children understand heavy topics
That said...Animal Farm is, ultimately, very violent and dark and there...will obviously not be executions in a "family-movie"...
And...a kinda-Christian publisher? -
