  6. Another software update has been released for AmigaKit's A600GS emulator platform and the ARM-based A1200NG motherboard. It is available for download to registered AmiSphere customers and includes the following changes:

    The video playback feature is now released in this update along with a new version of PlayMP3 and UnArchiver.

  7. A1200NG/A600GS: As Amigakit announces, they have released "ArmMP3File.library" that uses native ARM code to decode MP3 files. In addition to the text-based player already available, it is hoped that an MP3 player with a graphical user interface using the library will be released soon.

  8. The British developer and distributor AmigaKit has set up a new blog for the announced ARM-based motherboard A1200NG to provide information about the product.

    The motherboard was originally scheduled to be available in the first quarter of 2025, but the shop now lists April as the release date. The regular price for the board with a 64 GB MicroSD card is the equivalent of around 192 euros.

    Thanks for popping by. 🙂 Today I’ve got some Amiga news I want to share.

    Whilst browsing various Amiga forums this morning, I stumbled upon a post by amigang on the Amigaworld.net. He had noticed that AmigaKit had just uploaded a new product to their store, namely the A1200NG motherboard!

    The A1200NG motherboard fits into original and remake Amiga 1200 desktop cases. The ports align with the holes in the case using the supplied backplate.

    Features:

    • Games menu: add, edit & launch ADF/HDF/WHDBoot games, scene demos & apps (OCS, ECS, AGA).
    • AmiBench: 1080p screenmode with 32-bit icon set. Run Classic 68k programs.

    Personally, I already own the A600GS and I’m enjoying it a lot these days, but it would be fun to build this into an A1200 case for sure.
