Rusting machines in an old abandoned factory in England 🇬🇧

This factory is quite small. It made brushes and brooms which were quite popular in northern England. The workshop closed down many years ago and these old machines were left to rust. This location was quite local to me, and very nice to shoot with afternoons light in summer. Sadly it was demolish last year 🖤

I recently made a revisit to #explore a huge #abandoned paper factory. Flying solo on this one as well! What a maze this place is, I had completely forgotten the internal layout since my last visit 5 years ago. As a bonus, I got to explore several new areas this time.

Areas covered in this video; heating plant, pulping area, rolling area, labs, first aid room, staff room.

📷 Blue Tower / Orange Factory, Belgium

This processing plant opened in the 1960s to recycle waste from the nearby steel works. For nearly 40 years, the tall Blue Tower crushed, screened, and processed waste coke day and night. Specifically, this facility produced synthetic graphite from blast furnace coke waste.

The tall structure cast a shadow on the surrounding houses, a reminder of the region’s long history of steel production. The nearby blast furnace was torn down in 2016. The Blue Tower/Orange Factory followed it into memory with its demolition in 2021.
