DIRECT PICKUP ONLY: Anybody want some 20%-ish-used rechargeable LiIon 18650s?

I had a roomba battery pack fail on me and naturally it's all 18650s inside. One failed early (and took out its teamed partner), but the other six test fine - they take a charge, hold that charge over time, and maintain voltage on resistive load. But I have no purpose for them.

They're NOT the kind with charger-control circuitry built in, you'd have to bring your own, or your application would have to have it, which is common.

They have fewer than 100 charge/discharge cycles on them, so while they're probably reeeeeeal cheap generic they should still have another 400 cycles left.

anyway I don't have a use for 'em so... do you?

we manipulated a single 18650 cell to bypass various safety mechanisms and overcharged it in a safety cage.

this is about the same energy and and energy density your phone has.

the size of the cell is a bit larger than your thumb.

for the third time in a row the battery of my #CAT #S60 mobile phone blows up.

First two replacements were within the warranty/responsibility of my former employer.

Now that I inherited the phone which I occasionally use as my #FLIR camera, I want to replace the battery with a solid #18650cell . Will be fun adopting the connector though.

By the end of last #winter I'd ordered this #LED #headlight to be more visible, and see my surroundings better, on my #dailyExercise walks here in northern #Norway.

Silly me forgot to order an #18650 #battery to go with it though, so it had been lying unused on a shelf.
