  1. Regarding the repair project of my in house ventilation system:
    - The electronics is done so far and successfully tested. I only noticed that I should include a live voltage measurement to check in real time the voltage applied to the fans to have a primitive feedback loop.
    - The programming is not really done, but all functions are tested in separate code snippets
    - I now started with the design of all 3D-printing parts

  5. And yes, I could omit the voltage divider, because on the #nodemcu I’m using, pin A0 already has one built in.

    Another note on planning: because I also connected my output to a GPIO I can’t use I have this ugly wiring on the bottom of my board going to GPIO4 or GPIO5 and going from 3.3V to the voltage divider and from the voltage divider to GND.

  6. After flashing my first Tasmota on a plug templates.blakadder.com/obi_st, I am fascinated what the small processor can do (despite doing software for 40 years😀 ).

    The plug costs less than 10€, delivery included, so I started to wonder, how much that little RISC magic may cost?

    Developer boards go for less than 5€ in Germany (ebay), which is too much for the cheap plug.

    Lets check a Chinese outlet: wooowa, 0,08€/piece + shipping, first search result.😮

If your area has nasty smoke right now and you are sick of having to keep checking a website to get the current AQI I made a small internet enabled LED project that glows with the current AQI color. Only needs a NodeMCU/Feather, a NeoPixel Jewel or Ring and some Dupont type wires to connect. See instructables.com/PurpleAir-Ai for really simple instructions and code. Tried to get a string of WS2811 addressable LEDs hooked up on my bike for last night's Christmas lights ride but kept fighting what I think is a common ground issue and then we had to go. whomp whomp. I usually power from a AD/DC wall adapter so I think I'm not wiring the breadboard power supply grounds to my nodemcu ground and LED ground correctly #arduino #nodemcu #leds

  18. In the spirit of doing something new every day, I’ve dug out old #NodeMCU #ESP8266 and started playing with #ESPHome. Despite initial difficulties with connecting it to a hidden WiFi (it’s not that obvious!🤡), it actually worked and I can’t believe how easy it was to connect it and report temperature and humidity from #DHT11 sensor to #HomeAssistant.

    I guess the real party trick is to build it to be in a usable form, with a thought out layout and in a case…

    I guess I need a 3D printer now…😂

  20. The Bambulab is a pretty good piece of hardware. However, you need to be on the same network as the printer's if you are to send jobs directly from your computer.
    That or some ugly hacks at the network level to forward mDNS broadcasts.
    It also doesn't pair up nicely with Ubiquity APs.
    Fortunately I have some laying around, and now after setting them up as the in-between layer, now I am able to access the printer without compromising my network architecture hehe
