Itsehän olen jo useamman kuukauden raportoinut sitä, miten aktiiviset käyttäjät vähenevät tältä omalta instanssilta. Loppuvuonna niitä oli 67 K, nyt enää 9,7 K.
Äsken taas kävin katsomassa, niin omien seuraajien joukosta Mastodon on listannut 16 sivua tilejä, jotka ovat horroksessa - joita siis ei ole käytetty viimeiseen kuukauteen tai sitä pidempään aikaan.
Ehkä vähän paljon melua tyhjästä se 10 miltsiä käyttäjää?

Don't celebrate Mastodon racing #10million users just yet, as there was a recent beta of #Calckey which shows up as #Mastodon to this user count script, with the side effect that it's been over counting for a few days.
Apparently the dev version has already been patched and once the update rolls out these servers should stop showing up as Mastodon instances to the user count script.
(ETA: And that's leaving out that the script used by the popular count script that just passed 10m includes inactive servers, etc)
We will reach 10 million users (and more), but we haven't already!

I know this is a far cry from the number of users on Twitter, but combined with the enthusiasm and strong work of the developer community behind @Mastodon (and the recent addition of @medium signups), this really feels like a milestone.
