Tous les ambassadeurs israéliens sont des #hasbaratchik pas des diplomates ! Seulement de la propagande pas de diplomatie ! Ils devraient être révoqués !

  2. @leftylabourtech @markgrieveson @avilewis The key point for me in this article:

“What is clear, however, is that the NDP leader must be able to show they represent a genuine alternative to neoliberalism, and that requires going beyond any federal or provincial branch of recent decades. The case for holding back, to the degree it ever existed, has fallen apart.”

  3. @leftylabourtech @wbftw @renatarocha @pluralistic The only political candidate in anglo Canada I’ve heard raise a related issue (#RightToRepair) is Bonnie Critchley. Although the Battle River–Crowfoot outcome was a foregone conclusion, because Pierre re-ran in the most singlemindedly partisan-tribalistic federal riding in the country—so he wouldn’t have to take “no” for an answer—Bonnie’s R2R message resonated with the portion of voters there who think enough before voting that they wouldn’t elect a rock of it were painted blue. There are a lot of orange/blue ridings in rural Canada, and a lot of gamers, technicians, mechanics, farmers, and so on who could be led to the orange side with a pragmatic, informed, and authentic message.

For example, if you want to make headway with the voters who follow the likes of “penguinz0” (on YouTube), #AviLewis (and why hasn’t your team created an account for you here yet, btw), start by watching the GamersNexus GPU smuggling documentary and the follow-up videos about the Bloomberg DMCA abuse. Share those. Then watch a bunch of Louis Rossmann advocacy videos, contribute to the Consumer Rights Wiki, and join the Consumer Rights Discord: but do NOT make like Jagmeet, when he was riding AOC’s coattails, cargo culting her Among Us fundraiser (for Texas freeze victims) without bothering to learn the game before showing up on a livestream with her and pro gaming streamers to an audience of millions who’d already raised > $100,000/h. Don’t present with a “How do you do, fellow kids” like that, but rather, respect your audience by knowing before you speak or act, or by watching, asking questions, listening, and reflecting when your host knows better.

Play your cards right, Avi, and you might be able to appear with Cory or Lina on GN or on Louis’ show, talking about R2R, #RightToOwn, monopolies and oligopolies, and the power they wield against us due to their abuse of market dominance. Defy all PR training about talking points, but be sure to give good faith answers to every question asked of you. Don’t bother mentioning the party unless asked—the Canadian viewers will figure it out—but shows like Steve’s (GN), and similar high-integrity journalism about other topics such as cars, medical devices, tools, and so on, can be your version of Mark Carney appearing on American comedy talk shows. A lot of Canadians watch those, and they’re currently not entirely enamoured with the entitled-snobbish Liberals or DARVO-whinging Conservatives.

Btw, Cory, you could probably get some favourable coverage of your latest book on Steve’s and Louis’ shows. It’s right up both audiences’ allies.

  8. @leftylabourtech This just isn't realistic. This country isn't progressive enough to have reams of secret NDP voters who've been begrudgingly voting Liberal strategically. If people didn't do this, the NDP might get a few fewer percentage points & the Liberals a couple less. We'd get a Conservative minority.

We'll always have this problem until the NDP & Liberals merge & give voters an actual left vs right choice.

The impression I got from my interview with #CooperateForCanada people is that they had not at all considered second-order effects of their strategy. That is, eliminating the smaller progressive parties or candidates will leave only the Liberals, and a Liberal majority government is increasingly indistinguishable from a Conservative government.

Please don't vote NDP instead of Liberal in your riding if it will split the vote allowing the Conservative to win. Similarly please don't vote Liberal instead of NDP in your riding if it will split the vote, again allowing the Conservatives to win. This election is still under First Past The Post meaning the risk of Conservatives winning by vote splitting is still very real.

Let's see if Bay of Quinte's block of 'we always vote conservative' voters will repeat their zombie walk to the polls this time and pass up possibly their last chance to save their public health care system from being turned into a division of Grocerpharma Corp Limited. Do all of these people really have the big credit lines available to pay for the health care Ford is planning?

I agree with you that that modern #liberal/#progressive politics, #infected with this #toxic #elitism, bears a large share of responsibility for our present condition, where politics can't be discussed #rationally. Those towards one side of the spectrum decided the rest were "#deplorables", and that was that.

    But regarding the #SK #NDP [...]

  14. @icedquinn @thor @amnesty @leftylabourtech @galena That seems irrelevant, as it doesn’t apply to outlets such as the #BBC and #NYT if not the entire #MSM, as we saw with the accidental bombing of the #AlAqsaHospital’s parking lot.

  15. @Amgine

Agreed, the folks I interviewed are part of a long line of strategic voting initiatives and organizations. There was another group called #CooperateForCanada (and "Citizens for Cross Party Cooperation" before that) from #WaterlooRegion in 2012. Different founders, whom I also knew through other local orgs. Same ideas, same problems.

    @leftylabourtech

  16. #CommunityConnections is not an adversarial interview show. I hope I asked enough awkward questions to make them think about what they're doing to reduce democracy. I think their campaign is ineffective; there's no evidence from Ontario's voting results to show they made a difference.

Two candidates in Waterloo Region (both Green) endorsed a rival candidate. In both cases it didn't change the predicted outcome. It just left me disappointed with those candidates.

  17. Ontario Liberals in Scarborough Southwest are rather sad these days, engaged in endless internal bickering.

OTOH, Ontario NDP folks are in a rather good mood, and this weekend did a mass "birthday canvass" of the riding celebrating candidate Fatima Shaban's birthday. Voters talked about things that really matter like affordable housing, healthcare & education cuts along with #dougfords plan to pave the Toronto waterfront.
