Update on those #ABPoli referendum numbers, as we pass the 48-hour mark when all ballots were supposed to have been counted. (They're not; some polls still haven't reported on the separation question; last-priority question 9 is only at 80% of that.)
All four constitutional proposals, even Senate abolishment, are currently leaning to the "no" side.
All five anti-immigrant questions are still leaning to "yes". Question 1 (take control of immigration, reduce all non-economic immigration, give Albertans priority over jobs) is now approaching 55% support.
And honestly, that discrepancy has been eating at me all day, thinking of 100,000s who saw through the UCP blame-the-feds hogwash in the constitutional proposals but still ate up the blame-the-immigrants shit.
As I've posted in other threads, there was a lot of misinfo (including from the federal Conservative leader) suggesting that some of these questions were specifically about people here "illegally" but still — people had to have wanted to believe that.
