Apple Patches Exploited CoreGraphics Flaw and Hundreds of Vulnerabilities in October 2026 Security Update
On October 26, 2026, Apple released security updates across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, visionOS and Safari, patching several hundred vulnerabilities concentrated in WebKit, the kernel, ImageIO and CoreStorage. The fixes include WebKit code-execution and sandbox-escape flaws, a Remote Management remote code execution bug, and many privilege-escalation issues, plus the most urgent one: CVE-2026-86950 in CoreGraphics, which was exploited in targeted attacks and makes updating to iOS 18.7.11 critical for owners of older iPhones.
**If you use any Apple device (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV or Vision Pro), update it now. The current versions are iOS/iPadOS 27.2, 26.7.2 or 18.7.11, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, Tahoe 26.7.2 or Sequoia 15.8.2, tvOS/watchOS/visionOS 27.2, and Safari 27.2. If you still use an iPhone XS, XS Max or XR, install iOS 18.7.11 first: it fixes a flaw that has been exploited in targeted attacks. Until you've updated, be extra careful about unfamiliar websites, files, images and fonts from strangers, and connecting to unknown file-sharing or Screen Sharing servers.**
