Mark Pellington – „Arlington Road“ (1999)Ein ziemlich harter Thriller über Terror, Misstrauen und die Angst vor den Nachbarn – inszeniert in einer Vorstadt, wie sie für das amerikanische Kino der späten 1990er Jahre typisch ist. Mark Pellingtons Film handelt von einem Mann, der überall Gefahren sieht – und womöglich vollkommen Recht damit hat. Ein seltener Film über die schmale Linie zwischen berechtigter Sorge, Verschwörungstheorie und selbstzerstörerischer Paranoia. Sehenswert schon allein für Jeff Bridges, Tim Robbins, Joan Cusack und Hope Davis. (ARD, Wh.)

Great to see Auckland's City Rail Link open, with trains running through it under the CBD. Will be a big improvement to public transport there.

I don't think I shared this pic of a haul of good food we bought in Brunswick and Coburg last week. Some items came from Mediterranean Wholesalers, some from Al Alamy, a Lebanese supermarket. All delicious.
(BTW the jar with the hidden label contains spicy eggplant strips.)

I often think a lot of our affordability problems can be laid at the feet of commercial landlords. They seem so inflexible in lowering rents when demand is low, and so quick at raising them if a business in their property is doing well.
