  3. RE: flipboard.com/@engadget/transp

Translation: can't develop our own stuff in time so let's sell rebadged Toyotas. Ok, probably a good move.

Really excited about them dropping IC outright. 👍 At least that way all the stupid idiots with empty exhausts and unsilenced wastegates will be out of "tuning" fodder in a foreseeable amount of time.

  13. Hot on the heels of a major conference, and as I have mild prosopagnosia (face blindness), here's how you can help: if you don't have a name badge, give your full name (there's plenty of "Lee"s), or some context (we spoke about query plans last month). Not being rude, I just don't connect faces or profile pics to names easily!

  14. Added some automation using a small Shelly relay. Connected it to my gate robot motor, and now I can open the gate remotely (#Carplay) without standing on the road waiting for it to open using a handheld remote.

    Small wins!

  15. One Persistwise detail that might surprise people: each post gets captured once, the first time it shows up in your feed. Fix a typo later and the archived copy still has the typo lol. A record that keeps changing wouldn't be much of a record though

  17. Torsten Slok, Chief Economist, Apollo:

"AI may be a great calculator, but in business, intelligence is mostly judgment. Judgment depends on context, and the answer varies with which human or which model you ask. Perhaps most importantly, AI does not understand accountability, trust, culture, unwritten rules, ethical trade-offs or fairness, all of which shape reputational risk and ultimately drive revenue growth and profit margins."
