Enjoying a relaxing afternoon listening to "Wish You Were Here" by #PinkFloyd on #SACD.
It's been ages since I sat and listened to a multi channel album but I've been reorganising my office and moved my small collection of Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio discs and thought "why not?"
Pink Floyd always sounds so perfect in 5.1 Surround Sound.

I'm not really a #car person but I am an minor #audiophile and I got excited when I spotted that according the the manual my car should be able to handle #multichannel #audio playback!
However in practice all I seem to be able to get when I try various 5.1 #SurroundSound test files are the front left and right, all other channels silent. So it seems to know their 5.1, but only playing 2 channels out of front and rear speakers.
Any car/audio people have any suggestions? #Skoda #Fabia 3 #Bolero

Kino Lorber have announced a #4K #BluRay of #AndreiTarkovsky's #Nostalghia!
I think this is the first #Tarkovsky film to get a 4K home release. I hope it's a good transfer; I heard nothing but complaints about their presentation of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, so I'm waiting for the Arrow UK release.
I guess it would be Curzon handling this in the UK *if* it gets released here.

It's always great when people talk about the best #Batman film, so I was happy to see CinemaStix covering the throny topic of the film's aspect ratio.

I held off importing the US 4K release of #TheProphecy Trilogy as I knew that this was coming sometime soon, but this is the first time I've seen the gorgeous artwork!
God's Army (The Prophecy) is coming to #4K #BluRay in March from #PlaionPictures(formally #KochMedia).
The US Prophecy cut of the film will be 4K, while the International God's Army cut will apparently be presented in HD (with SD upscaling) on Blu Ray.
A friend worked on this release and I can't wait to see it.

I still live in hope that someone (not #Criterion!) will upgrade #AndreiTarkovsky's #Solaris to #4K sometime...and fix the colours and editing (Bloody Criterion!).

Oooh, just noticed that MosFilm's official YouTube channel has a #4K version of #AndreiRublev. I've only seen it the once but always meant to revisit it sometime.
Any #AndreiTarkovsky in 4K sounds too good to pass up!

I still need to get around to picking up the #4K #BluRay of #WimWenders' #WingsOfDesire.
The initial UK release had subtitle problems, but #Curzon promptly fixed them...so I really should add it to my collection.

Nice to see that the UK has finally had a #BluRay release of #WimWenders' Director's Cut of #UntilTheEndOfTheWorld from #Curzon.
I'd rush out and buy it instantly if I hadn't already imported it from the US years ago...but if you haven't seen it then I highly recommend picking this classic up.
A word of warning though...it is five hours long.
Nice to see we get two different covers too, one with #SamNeill and the other with #SolveigDommartin.
I think I prefer the Dommartin version.

After a year of on again off again work I'm glad this project is finally complete just in time for 2024...the year of #Highlander2!
Despite tinkering with video editing in various forms for close to 20 years this is actually my first completed #fanedit.
Look out for #Highlander 2 Rebuild early next year!

Our next #Christmas Film was the eternal classic #TokyoGodfathers by the legendary #SatoshiKon.
I honestly think that this film needs to be part of the Christmas canon for more people. It's an unconventional Christmas story but all the right feelings and messages are there.
Every time I watch a Satoshi Kon film I'm left with the feeling that we were robbed of a once in a lifetime genius. He left us with incredible works, but we missed out on everything he didn't get to make. #今敏 #東京ゴッドファーザーズ

As jarring as the black face scene in #HolidayInn is I can't help but feel that the alt-right would throw a fit hearing some of the lyrics of "Song of Freedom"

Just watched our first proper #Christmas film of the year; #HolidayInn. This year we upgraded to the #4K Blu Ray.
I believe that they couldn't use the original negatives for this one so while it's not as stunning a revelation as Singin' In The Rain it's still a huge upgrade over the hugely compressed Blu Ray that had to share precious disc space with the colourised version.
