  1. It's Thursday afternoon in #Phoenix, and in 89 days, #Arizona voters get a chance to choose which politicians show up in the #GeneralElection. Let's do better than the 2024 #PrimaryElection, when almost 70% of registered voters decided to let party hardliners make the choice for them.

In 23 days, voters in #Louisiana will have their Primary Election on May 16 2026. I hope they also do better than 2024, when 83% of Cajuns let party-over-country loyalists decide for them.

Some edits to show the absurdity:

“.. parents have raised concerns that controversial RACIAL identity issues are being included or promoted in children’s programs without providing any disclosure… to parents.
Specifically, the industry guidelines are rating shows with NOT JUST WHITE & STRAIGHT PEOPLE as appropriate for children and young children… thereby undermining the ability of parents to make informed choices for their
    families.“

It’s not about protecting kids. It’s about #intolerance.

  4. It's Wednesday afternoon in #Arizona, where we have just 90 days before our Primary Election Day. Do you have a #votingPlan?

Both #Nebraska and #WestVirginia have #PrimaryElections in 13 days. In 2024, about 70% of the registered voters in those states couldn’t be bothered to cast votes in their primary election, effectively letting a small minority of people make decisions for them. And how's that working out for you?

#Vote in the Primaries. Make a difference. Spread the word.

    Alternate reading:

#Virginia legislators make a stand in favor of the opposition to American #fascism. Voters agree it’s a good idea.”

  11. This is the best article I've read about podcast monetization in a very long time, and I HATE talking about podcast monetization!

    podnews.net/article/intimacy-o

Programmatic ads really only bring in meaningful revenue when they get 100s of 1000s of impressions a month, which forces podcasters to cram 9 or more ads into each episode.

But direct sponsorship is quite different. Better for listeners, the creator, and the sponsor.

  12. Hey, #Arizona unaffiliated (e.g., independent, no party affiliation) registered voters.

Did you know you CAN vote in the Primary Election on July 21st?

Yep! You can request a ballot from either party. Do it for the Dems, and vote for the most progressives you can. This is how we make the Dems better.

  13. What happens when progressives show up to #vote in local elections?

“the Clean Energy Team flipped two seats… shifting control of the body to clean-energy-friendly board members.”

“in 13 head-to-head races… Clean Energy Team candidates won 11 of the matchups.”

“The losses for Turning Point, despite the massive investment of money and effort, could be a troubling bellwether for both Republicans and Turning Point itself… in November.”

  14. One thing I’ll say about #Trump supporters is they live their convictions.

Like this lady who flipped us off & rolled down her window to shout obscenities at us for having the temerity to exercise our #1A rights on the corner of McDowell & 7th St in #Phoenix this morning.

She did it without fear of reprisal from A Helping Hand Transportation, her employer in #Scottsdale, acting like the uneducated person Trump loves. In a company car. 🤦

I watch a fair amount of #CollegeFootball. I have since I was in college at a college that was, and still is, rather good at college football.

While my knowledge is far from encyclopedic, I don’t know anyone who calls the Army v Navy game anything other than the Army Navy game. And I can count on zero fingers the number of times in 40 years I’ve earned the Army Navy game for more than a few plays.

  18. ‘Fuck you very much, Indiana MAGA,’ says a Federal judge as he allows students to use their student IDs when voting.

“The court estimated that roughly 40,000 students could be affected by the law. And for those voters, the consequences would be immediate.”

This is what #ElectionInterference looks like, and the call is coming from inside the country.

This is why I give a giant “Fuck off!” to other USians who can’t be bothered to vote.

    #Vote in local elections.

    Vote in special elections.

    Vote in #primary elections.

And yes, also vote in general #elections.

#Voting can and does change things, but only if you get your lazy ass to the #polls.

  20. Welcome to Tuesday, #Arizona. There are 91 days until the #PrimaryElection. In 2024, 69% of you couldn't be bothered to show up and cast a #vote.

The next Primary Elections happen on May 5th in #Indiana, where 83% of Hoosiers couldn't be bothered to show up and cast a vote, and #Ohio, where 78% of Ohioans decided to let others decide who they'd have a chance to vote for in the #GeneralElection.

We can do better. Spread the word.

  27. Oh, here’s a NOT neat thing that #podcasters need to be aware of:

YouTube DOES NOT respect 301 redirects for connected RSS feeds.

Nope. You have to go in and disconnect your RSS feed, then reconnect to the new feed. Because if you don’t, they'll keep on happily referencing the old feed.

So, if you’re in #podcasting and you've ever connected your RSS feeds to #YouTube (which, I mean, you should), go check to make sure everything is kosher, especially if you've migrated to a new host.
