"Once again, Beer Geeks Beat ALS is back with a ‘Mega Collab beer’... a record number of 89 participating breweries.... a 12% Imperial Stout with rosemary and sea salt. This was brewed at Poesiat & Kater in #Amsterdam.
None other than Cesar Zuiderwijk (drummer with Golden Earring) designed the artwork featured on the beer’s label."

At last nights #demolitionDerby they had a fan drive. That’s the car in yesterday’s picture. I felt I was Qualified but was not chosen 😢. Only one minor injury.
I know I am qualified to enjoy this #taxmanBrewing Belgian style bourbon barrel aged quadruple!
Lots of extras from the barrel aging. Kicked up toffee and spiced notes, dark fruit and bourbon.

A while ago I was at a bottle shop - chain of franchise stores - with a super helpful owner. Interested in what I was looking for... And dropping info that he could order lots of things that weren't on the shelves.
We also talked about aging certain types of #CraftBeer... Which led to him asking: "but surely you don't drink brews past their best before date?" I sure do, mate.
Opening this Wilderness #BarrelAged #Stout reminded me of that conversation 😁

What a quad! Caramel and maple sweet, rye spiced with a whiskey finish. Smooth and stickee in all the right ways.

I picked a special treat from the basement yesterday. German Schorschbräu & Scottish BrewDog joined forces on this Eisbock during the pandemic after a year long battle for the strongest beer in the world.
The beer boasts an explosion of super concentrated raisin, cocoa nib and pumpernickel aroma which is too soon overpowered by an numbing alcoholic bite... tribute to the 57,78% abv.
This insane number is only achieved through freeze distillation of regular beer, no added bs.

There are two breweries in #Oamaru... One has better beer (and tasty Belgian fries with mayo), the other one has more & better food options.
As the Belgian inspired one was closed and it was dinner time, it had to be Scotts aka the other brewery 😁
Their NZ #pilsner is hoppy and refreshing. Tasty combo with the pizza and loaded fries.

Dark and toasty with a hoppy kick on the finish like a black IPA. Creamy oat body belies its stout parentage.
