"Florida stole my parents " from Refined Fool Brewing in Sarnia, Ontario close to the lake which unequivicably called Lake Ontario. First smell was of a new carpet shop, but pleasant orange hazy IPA, not super strong, easy drinking but not memorable. Great name though not sure why the parents would let themselves be stolen

Two days open, still too hoppy for my tastes but lighter than a big #stout

Finally popped the #surlybrewing Twenty #barleywine
Oaky, bitter, big hoppy. Way too many hops, not enough of the expected caramel and other flavors. Not your father’s barleywine, not a favorite.
Leaving bottle two to age until next year…

Trying some local Groningen beer.
#1 Eggens Tripel, 9%. Nice crispness but again an ale in tripel clothing. According to the liquor store "made from ancient grain" - ("oer graan") wondering why that is supposed to be a good thing :)
Strong morning cereal flavours - so maybe rhar's it#craftbeer #netherlands #groningen #beerlovers #breweries #beersofmastodon

Rich and malty, caramel and cardamom spices (glad they told me what that one is, would not have guessed). A warming boozy finish.
