On this day in 1942, Anne Frank received her first diary for her 13th birthday. On the cover page, she wrote: 'I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support." When she went into hiding during the Holocaust, her diary was one of the first items she packed.

Shelley Winters wins the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Petronella van Daan, the pseudonym of Auguste van Pels, in the 1959 film The Diary of Anne Frank. She would later donate it to the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam.

🗓️ Die Uraufführung des Oratoriums "Annes Passion" von Evgeni Orkin rückt immer näher – und damit auch das umfassende multidisziplinäre Rahmenprogramm, mit welchem die Universität die Aufführung begleitet.
