To add 35 more years of copyright, the Swiss Anne Frank Fonds declared Otto Frank a "co-author" of the diary he always insisted was Anne's own. He founded the Fonds in 1963 to fund charitable work in Anne's spirit, not this. Recently, the Fonds "argued" that free, scholarly editions of the diary should be banned because VPNs exist. Otto is doing the 360° in his grave.
The Fonds should not be confused with the Anne Frank Foundation (a.k.a. the Anne Frank House in the Netherlands).
The good news is that the EU just said no to this and set a precedent for VPNs as legitimate tools and cleared publishers of the guilt when individuals use such tools to circumvent geofences. As the article calls it, this was a move grounded in common sense.

"A #mural in #Italy depicting #Holocaust victim and diarist #AnneFrank and #Italian Holocaust survivor and #writer #PrimoLevi was vandalized with #antisemitic graffiti recently, The Algemeiner has learned.
The mural was created by Italian contemporary #artist #AleXsandroPalombo to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day and is displayed on the wall of the #MontelloBarracks in #Milan. #Frank and #Levi are portrayed seated opposite one another as they both look up to a sky filled with yellow Stars of David. Across the sky is the message: “Memory Is No Longer Enough.” Vandals covered the phrase and painted the words “#ZIONIST #SETTLER #NAZIS.” Levi’s face was also defaced."

On this day in 1942, Anne Frank received her first diary for her 13th birthday. On the cover page, she wrote: 'I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support." When she went into hiding during the Holocaust, her diary was one of the first items she packed.

1944 wurde das Versteck entdeckt. Anne Frank wurde deportiert und starb Anfang 1945 im Konzentrationslager Bergen-Belsen.
Erinnern heißt handeln. Nie wieder ist jetzt.
