To add 35 more years of copyright, the Swiss Anne Frank Fonds declared Otto Frank a "co-author" of the diary he always insisted was Anne's own. He founded the Fonds in 1963 to fund charitable work in Anne's spirit, not this. Recently, the Fonds "argued" that free, scholarly editions of the diary should be banned because VPNs exist. Otto is doing the 360° in his grave.
The Fonds should not be confused with the Anne Frank Foundation (a.k.a. the Anne Frank House in the Netherlands).
The good news is that the EU just said no to this and set a precedent for VPNs as legitimate tools and cleared publishers of the guilt when individuals use such tools to circumvent geofences. As the article calls it, this was a move grounded in common sense.

Heute wäre Anne Frank 97 Jahre alt geworden.
Sie wurde am 12. Juni 1929 in Ffm geboren. Als Jüdin musste sie mit ihrer Familie vor den Nazis in die Niederlande fliehen. Während der deutschen Besatzung versteckte sie sich gemeinsam mit ihrer Familie in einem Hinterhaus in Amsterdam. Dort schrieb sie ihr weltberühmtes Tagebuch.
1944 wurde das Versteck entdeckt. Anne wurde deportiert und starb Anfang 1945 im KZ Bergen-Belsen – nur wenige Wochen vor der Befreiung.
