  1. Josh Johnson is on tour, in London this week. Here’s some of his routine from yesterday. It’s about 40 minutes. The first part is his basic schtick, but please be sure to keep watching, listening, or skip ahead to 23:00 and watch the next 14 minutes. We think, “it can’t happen here.” It’s happening here, folks. He’s talking, of course, about #Minneapolis. And #Alex_Pretti. youtu.be/VukAjVNhJlY?si=rDVoDV

  2. #OnceUponATime, long ago, some programmer sitting in their cubicle wrote the first code that did drag-and-drop. When would that have been? Since then, that code and the meme of drag-and-drop itself have propagated throughout the entire universe of #graphical UIs, mutating and evolving as new coding substrates (OS languages) appear and also evolve. Does the original core code still exist anywhere? Where might that be? #writeMeABook, please, somebody, that tells me this story.

  3. I’m watching the Australian #WILTY and just heard a linguistic tidbit: American booger = Australian goober. That’s all. Carry on.

  4. After an apparent one year hiatus, there is a new #WILTY episode. S19ep1. youtu.be/pjc-LmJSLBA?si=Sa9GWZ
    I’ve missed them.

  5. It’s just the old joke about Puritans being horrified that somebody somewhere is having fun.

  6. @ScienceScholar
Docs have lots of problems diagnosing #crohns even after symptoms have appeared. Maybe this will help them, too.

  7. @ScienceScholar
If someone could post a non-protected version of this that would be appreciated. #crohns

  8. Ok, first, I’m genuinely curious about this. Honestly, I’m not trolling. I toyed briefly with some version of *nix years ago (maybe 20 or so) but didn’t get it, or it didn’t get me, or something, and I’ve been content to let Apple do all the heavy lifting for me and my computers. That said, can someone explain to me why there are so many versions, or implementations of it? What’s the point of that? Feel free to #ExplainToMeLikeIm5 if you feel the need. (Yes, I know macOS is Linux-based.)

  9. I have a question about #passkeys. I haven’t changed any of my accounts over to passkeys—don’t @ me, ok—because I’m old or some such, but there’s a google account I use for a club I’m a member of. With a password, if I wanna hand over the account to someone I just give them the password. Is it that simple with a passkey? I just give them the passkey? Sounds too easy. #ExplainToMeLikeIm5

If this is in the US I believe it is illegal to ask this on a job application. #IANAL

  11. of a doddering fool. Part n/x
were the downfall of any hopes I had for a career in science. Algebra was required for a major in any science. You had to not only take it, you had to pass it and my brain just couldn’t do it. Organic chemistry didn’t help either, but I’d already failed algebra twice so I didn’t really put much effort into it, as in studying. But I’ve held onto a broad interest in sciency stuff in general to this day.

  15. So this is a recent photo of #LiverKing, some weirdo who’s challenged #JoeRogan to a fight to the death for some reason.
    Dude’s got issues.

  16. If anyone bothers to “ask an AI” and you feel like replying here, please do us the courtesy of including that info in your reply. Not saying don’t ask. Nomb what you do. But I won’t really know whether it’s true, ya know? Still, I’d be interested in what you come up with.
I wonder if there is a mathematical somewhere around here who could come up with the answer without even hardly trying. until we find them.
