I’m looking for a book describing research into the earliest known examples of what we’d recognize as a stringed instrument (musical or any other purpose that became musical.) I believe I’ve read that Neanderthals had #string, but can’t swear to it. I’d like to read that book. Anybody know of one offhand, or written one of their own? Gimme some titles, please.
