@ScienceScholar
Docs have lots of problems diagnosing #crohns even after symptoms have appeared. Maybe this will help them, too. -

Years ago when I started my web page for #crohns & #Ulcerativecolitis, back in the Stone Age when you had to write your own html, I’d get 2-3 emails a day touting cures, often offering me a ground floor marketing opportunity. The most entertaining was a home kit for a blood filtering process similar to hemodialysis from some Russian guy. Drinking aloe vera was another popular one. -

Scientists at our university and LMU University Hospital Munich combine dietary therapy with fecal microbiome transfer to improve long-term treatment for #Crohns disease. By reshaping the #gutmicrobiome, they aim to sustain remission and reduce #inflammation: http://go.tum.de/395259

CW: hospital, medical, anniversary
it's also my one-year sickaversary! this time one year ago I was finally at the emergency room. I did not have an ectopic pregnancy (thank goodness) but I did have a fist-sized abcess due to a tear in my colon, caused by Crohn's-rated ulcers. (I did not know I had Crohn's at the time, so. surprise!)
it took six operations over seven months to drain the abscess and stitch up the hole. and this is considered extremely fast. my doctors gave me four times as much medicine as is normal, and I was also in a study to see if hyperbaric oxygen therapy works. my body reacted extremely well, which is why I can say it took seven months rather than two years, which is how long this trajectory normally takes.
anyway, it's been a hell of a year, but I'm glad it's over and I'm celebrating health :blobcatmelt:
