I got my start as the only photographer interested in being there and now help run it

For #VGMwednesday I just have to pick a track from the genre which I've been playing non-stop for the past 2 weeks now.
The classic #STGOne track which always brightens my day is OLGA BREEZE 太陽シーン (Taiyou shiin / Sun scene) from Darius 2, by the always amazing Zuntata.
The intro when she goes "i always wanted a thing called tuna sashimi" gives me goosebumps, each and every time.

So, whilst I still deliberate if I want to do a different theme for #VGMWednesday this year, let's kick the year off with my 2nd favourite VGM vocal track of all time.
Every time I see this pop up on a recommendation, I'm playing it.
The track in question is from the game Cassette Beasts, an absolute top-notch monster collecting RPG with lots of cool designs, mechanics and just everything. Love it. Can't recommend it enough.
Now. The track in question is 『Face Down』, the track that plays when facing the game's equivalent of gym leaders. Typically, the track is played off-vocal, that is, until you activate the fusion technique and combine your active monsters.
The entire thing activates a rush in me, this is the Shounen anime equivalent of playing the opening theme as fight music for a big bad.

Just because it is Christmas Eve, doesn't mean I am not going to fulfil my contractual obligation to post something for #VGMWednesday
We're getting close to the end of the year, I gave myself a theme of games I have been playing recently. Jeez, I might need to compile a list of all the tracks I put together as my 2025 playlist.
ANYWAY, as some may know, I have been playing Final Fantasy X recently, mostly so I could clear it from my unbeaten games list. Being a Final Fantasy game it comes as no surprise that it has a solid soundtrack.
Perhaps a little cliché, but I have chosen the 『Battle Theme』for this game, and on reflection I would say this ranks up as one of my favourite battle themes for Final Fantasy of all time. It may not be the OG, or Man with the Machine Gun, but it provides a fantastic backdrop to pretty much every non-boss encounter.
It is hard to listen to without thinking about the sounds of casting and explosions...

Been looking for inspirations for a RPG gamedev project and recall stumbling upon the OST of YU-NO, a PC-98 visual novel, known for having if not a brilliant OST for a videogame not well known to the western audience, and for having if not one of the most notable use of dithering in pixel art.
I may not be a fan of visual novels but as a VGM freak it has some interesting bits for a unique style.
